The purpose of the Mental Health Student Assistance Services is to assist school personnel in the identification, referral and support of the students who are experiencing a variety of behavioral, academic, or other difficulties that interfere with their daily functioning. We also have separate Drug & Alcohol Student Assistance Services for students who are otherwise impacted by substance abuse. Through close communication with school administrators and teachers, we emphasize the warning signs and effects of drug and alcohol abuse and how substance abuse impacts the family. These services provide prevention and intervention, not treatment. Students who require additional intervention are referred for an assessment for outpatient treatment.
