Community Mental Health Residential Programs
The community mental health residential services of MYCS enable individuals over the age of 18 with a chronic mental health diagnosis an opportunity to achieve personal growth and fulfillment. Through various treatment modalities and approaches, these programs enhance the development of the skills, attitudes and habits necessary to prevent re-hospitalization and to encourage successful community reintegration.
MYCS staff members emphasize autonomy in all phases of service delivery. Service plans are individualized to focus on the strengths, needs and preferences of each person served. Whenever possible, family members are involved in the care process. The end result is individuals who are able to function at their highest level of independence, while maintaining meaningful employment and involvement in community and religious activities.
The various levels of the residential services differ in their intensity and goals. Each service is designed to afford individuals the opportunity to transition through the stages as their needs change.
Enhanced Care CRR
In the Enhanced Care CRR (Community Residential Rehabilitation) program, services are delivered in a group home setting that provides a high level of support and supervision. Goals typically focus on increasing skill levels of daily living, medication management and community reintegration. These services are designed to be an intensive, short-term housing option, which provides residents with the skills they need to successfully reintegrate into the community and obtain more independent housing.
Community Based Supported Housing
The Supported Housing program provides community wrap-around support for individuals functioning independently in their own homes throughout the community. Services are provided in the areas of medication management, budgeting and assistance with landlord issues. The frequency and intensity of services depends on the individual’s skill level and needs.
Geriatric Personal Care Boarding Home
In the Geriatric Personal Care Boarding Home program, residents receive specialized geriatric services and structured group recreation/education therapy, including socialization, life skills, creative art, reality orientation and sensory stimulation. Residents also work on medication management, activities of daily living and budgeting in order to develop and maintain skills to assist them with functioning at their highest level of independence. These services are designed to be a long-term housing option with individuals residing here until a higher level of care is required.
Comprehensive Mental Health Personal Care Home
In the Comprehensive Mental Health Personal Care Home program, individuals served at this level are typically younger and have not been successful in other community housing options. These services provide a high level of supervision and support as well as social, education and recreation groups on site. Medication management and activities of daily living are stressed in order to assist residents with learning to maintain their independence at the highest possible level. Services are designed to be a long term housing option with individuals residing here until a higher level of care is required or they choose to move to alternative housing.
