MYCS Mission

To foster hope, renewal, healing and wellness for those who face the challenges of mental health, substance use, and intellectual disabilities.

Organizational History

Since 1969, MYCS has helped individuals and families in the Mon-Yough region Get Better based on the specific and unique circumstances presented by each case we receive. Starting out as a mental health outpatient facility with three employees, MYCS has successfully grown and adapted to meet the growing needs of a changing community. With a current full-time staff of more than 300, we are one of the largest employers in McKeesport and the surrounding communities. MYCS participates in local and statewide initiatives, maintaining a constant emphasis on program development and quality improvement.

MYCS has been among the leaders in providing quality community health care services. Some MYCS areas of expertise include Mental Health, Intellectual Disabilities and Substance Abuse. Our comprehensive service continuum ranges from outpatient therapy to residential services, vocational training and psychosocial rehabilitation.

We are fortunate to own property in McKeesport that services our vocational, out-patient clinics, case management and rehab services. We also own five (5) of our sixteen (16) residential homes. However, the internal competition for our shared resources is high and the demand exceeds the supply.

Without MYCS operating in the Mon Valley, over *6000 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the elderly, schools, families and those with substance abuse difficulties would not have the services they need to overcome and manage their very real life issues.

Senior Management

Carol Gross, MS, ([email protected]) Executive Director, Mon Yough Community Services

As Executive Director, Carol is responsible for the overall administration and direction of the organization. Carol has been with MYCS since 2000, and most recently served as  Director of Community and Clinical Operations where she was     responsible for coordination, management, and oversight of adult mental health/developmental disability residential and vocational services, as well as mobile, psych and social rehabilitation services. Prior to joining MYCS, Carol served as Director of the Mental Health Children’s Pre-school Program at the Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute in Philadelphia, PA. She also worked as Supervisor of Adult Vocational Case Management and the Severe Disabilities Program for an agency in Rhode Island. Carol has acted as Program Specialist with the Allegheny County Department of Human Services and as Director of Developmental Disability Services/Pittsburgh for a local agency. Carol holds a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Geneva College.

William Latta, ([email protected]) Director of Administrative Operations, Mon Yough Community Services

Joining our team in 2014, William brings over 30 years of experience related to all aspects of administrative operations. As Director of Administrative Operations, William is responsible for planning and managing a comprehensive array of administrative functions, as well as providing leadership to our facilities management, finance, and budgetary departments.

Alicia Eddy, ([email protected]) Director of Human Resources and Talent Management, Mon Yough Community Services

Alicia provides strategic and day-to-day management of the Human Resources Department. Before coming to MYCS in 2013, Alicia worked with several large organizations in the Pittsburgh and Chicago area.
